Crisis in Egypt
http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/africa/02/06/egypt.protests/index.html?hpt=T1
A major crisis has broken out in Egypt. The people of Egypt have been protesting to let the government know that they do not want Mubarak back as their president. This has brought so much violence to the country over the span of 13 days. But as this violence has broken out the military has come in to stop the protests, which has led the people to protect one another, because they do not trust their government. One thing that stood out to me was that the Muslims during the protest encircled some Christians in order to protect them. This makes me realize that these people were initially not seeking violence; they just want Mubarak out of office. They are trying to band together and protect each other from the government and from Mubarak being reelected. The protesters have put their differences aside from one another and are fighting for a common issue. On the other hand a majority of the violence that has broken out has been between the military v. protesters and the protesters v. the people who support Mubarak's reelection. Things seem to get a little better when word broke out that Mubarak decided that he would not be running again for presidency. It's sad though that all this violence has broken out and caused so much destruction. Much of the violence is a result of the people feeling that their government and president neither respects nor represents them. And hopefully in the days to come the violence will begin to subside and order and peace will be brought into the country.

Current Event Reflection of Activist
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/40908300/ns/today-today_pets_and_animals
This article struck me the most, because this man, Jim Jablon, is taking matters into his own hands in order to save his wildlife center, Wildlife Rehabilitation of Hernando, by living with two of his young lions, at age 5 and 3, for 30 days. This man's courage and determination to stay for 30 days in an enclosed area with these wild African lions are what drew me to this article. These lions are not calm and relaxed all the time, Jim has been bitten scratched, and even had his clothes torn from "play time". Jim has his daughter video taping his experience live since his first day in January 1st. For the entire month of January Jim will be raising money for not only his lions but other animals in his wildlife center. Jim's loyalty to his animals show his commitment to his job and his love for these abandoned and mistreated animals that he has taken in. These types of wildlife centers are the places that others need to help, because people like Jim are the ones who have devoted their time and energy to protecting these animals who deserve a natural and humane lifestyle. Jim however has taken the necessary precautions in order to keep both him and the lions safe during the next 30 days, by preparing a separate area in cause the lions begin to play too rough. He has taken these precautions so he man be able to stay in the lion's den for all these 30 days so he can raise the money he intends to make to safe his wildlife center.
